Found In Others, Never In Eve Shakes

No Tapioca Flour

Tapioca flour is a high-carbohydrate, low-protein, fat, and fibre ingredient, often considered a 'filler.' We exclude it in our meal replacements because of its high glycemic index, which can lead to blood sugar spikes. These spikes can lead to substantial insulin releases, potentially disrupting metabolic balance and adversely impacting weight management.

No Maltodextrin

Derived from starch, maltodextrin is a complex carbohydrate used as a food additive to enhance taste and texture. We exclude it as it quickly converts into simple sugars, potentially causing blood sugar spikes. This can be detrimental to weight management efforts, as stable blood sugar levels are crucial for effective weight loss. In addition, hormonal changes can disrupt blood sugar levels and put some women at higher risk of type 2 diabetes therefore keeping blood sugar levels stable is important.

No Red Clover

Red clover, a plant containing isoflavones, mimics estrogen in the body. While it might seem beneficial, we avoid it due to potential interactions with certain medical treatments and increased risks for those with estrogen-sensitive conditions. Our goal is to ensure our meal replacement shakes are inclusive and safe for everyone.

No Caffeine

Caffeine, a stimulant commonly found in coffee and tea, can cause increases in anxiety and disrupt insulin levels, negatively impacting weight management. Ingredients such as green tea extract, is a common ingredient in diet shakes. This is due to the active compounds associated with 'weight loss'. However, caffeine can make perimenopause symptoms and menopause symptoms of hot flashes and anxiety worse in women over 40.

No Dairy

Dairy products, especially those derived from whey, can cause sensitivities and inflammation in some individuals. Recognising this, we use plant-based proteins that provide essential amino acids without dairy's potential adverse effects, ensuring our shakes are gentle and beneficial for your health.

No Palm Oil

There are several reasons why we do not include palm oil in our products.

1. Environmental Concerns: Palm oil is a major contributor to deforestation and habitat destruction, particularly in Southeast Asia, where the majority of the world's palm oil is produced. The clearing of vast areas of rainforest for palm oil production contributes to global climate change and loss of biodiversity.

2. Health Concerns: Palm oil is high in saturated fat and has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease. Additionally, many palm oil products contain trans fats, which are considered to be particularly harmful to health.

3. Ethical Concerns: The production of palm oil is associated with human rights abuses, including child labor and forced labor. Additionally, the production of palm oil is linked to the displacement of indigenous communities.

No Sucralose

Sucralose, a synthetic sweetener made from modifying sugar, is often used as a low-calorie sugar substitute and often found in products marketed for ‘weight loss’.

Some research has suggested that consuming sucralose may negatively impact gut health by altering the balance of gut bacteria. We opt instead for Stevia, as it's a natural sweetener without sucralose's potential negative impacts on gut health and weight management.

No Aspartame

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener used in various food and drink products. Due to concerns about potential health risks, including neurological effects and digestive issues, we exclude it from our products, focusing on safer, more natural sweetening alternatives.

No Dextrose

Dextrose, a simple sugar from corn starch, is rapidly absorbed, causing blood sugar spikes. These spikes can lead to increased insulin release, promoting fat storage and hindering weight management. This cycle contributes to hunger and cravings, complicating efforts to maintain a healthy diet. Additionally, its potential as a genetically modified product raises health concerns. Therefore, we exclude dextrose to support stable blood sugar levels, aiding in effective weight control and overall health.

  • Adaptogens

    Ashwaghanda

Ashwagandha, also known as Withania somnifera, is an adaptogenic herb that has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat various ailments.Ashwagandha may provide benefits by regulating the neuroendocrine system and improving hormonal balance. Its active constituents, including withanolides, alkaloids, and sitoindosides, have been shown to modulate the secretion of cortisol and other stress hormones, reducing anxiety and improving mood.

  • Prebiotic Fibres

    Prebiotic Fibre

Prebiotic fibres are non-digestible carbohydrates that ferment in the gut and stimulate the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. This fermentation process leads to the release of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which trigger the release of the GLP-1 hormone. GLP-1 helps to regulate blood sugar levels, decrease appetite, and increase the feeling of fullness. By increasing the production of GLP-1, prebiotic fiber can improve metabolism and support weight loss.

    Inulin

Changes in hormone levels can lead to an imbalance in your gut bacteria, causing digestive issues and other symptoms. Inulin can help restore this balance by promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria and reducing harmful bacteria in the gut. Inulin can also increase the production of the hormone GLP-1, which helps regulate blood sugar levels and promotes feelings of fullness. This can lead to improved metabolism and weight loss.
