This Is Midlife
Set up my own business! Although I don't think I could have done it earlier, tbh, as the lived experience - battle scars and all - are part of the foundations of the business.
To only work with people that make me smile, in other words who have values that they actually uphold and live by, and that are aligned with mine :-)
erm... a bit of both; I start off logically and then it gets creative from there...
When I'm in a group of people asking questions and actively listening to the answers, so that we're having an actual conversation; I don't feel the need to prove myself and can keep learning.
That we have to give up on things; it's just not true - things open up even more, particularly as we give fewer effs. ;-)
A solid neutral base with bright colours on top and chunky silver jewellery - with my grey hair and red lipstick
balanced - I love my Eve biology shakes for my morning kick off; vanilla, with almond milk - I'm no longer anaemic and my skin is probably the best it's ever been. I then have an evening meal - and the odd glass or two of wine at weekends. Or g&ts!
Crochet in front of a decent drama - murder, crime etc - and meeting up with friends. We love going to live theatre and music, too - there's something really life affirming about live entertainment.
I drink gallons of water - and black tea, M&S Empress Grey (dahling!) That, coupled with speaking to at least 3 different people gives me joy!
Exercise bike in the morning, and I try to get a certain number of steps in on a daily basis. It's not always achievable but having a target helps the mindset and focus
Fitting in with others and their expectations; which, to be fair, were often my expectations imposed onto them.
I've been picking up my Dutch again after not speaking it for a while, and I'm loving learning how I can help others at different business stages.
In the summer of 2024 I did a course which was for me and really helped give me focus and some headspace and clarity. I now try to get some time in to do this at least once every two months. A day of headspace gives me 2 to 6 months of focus.
That you're smarter and stronger than you think - and you have a decent figure, despite what your head’s telling you!
All 3! Usually at least two at a time...
It was from myself last autumn - and it was to stop fannying around!
